Robust Infrastructure

RAK is well connected internationally. With sea, air and telecom links available in RAK, businesses can draw comfort in having at their disposal a vibrant transport and communications network.

Airport

The RAK airport consists of a main terminal building equipped with the latest in passenger services making the airport an ideal transit point. The airport operates flights to a variety of destinations covering the Middle East, North & East Africa, Central Asia, India and Far East. Open 24 hours / day the airport has an open skies policy with no restrictions on frequencies and time of arrival / departure.

Seaports

The Emirate offers well equipped sea ports: RAK Port, Saqr Port and Al Jazeera Port. Each of these seaports has its own features, capabilities and potential. Al Jazeera started quite recently as a multi purpose port and could be enlarged for container handling in the future. One of the most active gulf sea ports, located in the industrial area of Khor Khuwair, Saqr Port (Mina Saqr) is equipped with the latest facilities.

Mina Saqr has eight deep water berths, each 200 m long, and is dredged to 12.2 m. Mina Saqr's geographical position makes it an ideal port for transshipment operations. Sea / air cargo through Mina Saqr to Ras Al Khaimah airport, or any other international airport in the Emirates will save time of shipment time compared to any other port in UAE.

Roads

Two free flowing dual-carriageways link RAK with the other northern emirates and beyond. One follows the coast with beautiful beaches on the one side and stretches of desert on the other; the other new route runs out towards the airport in the direction of Khatt, Fujairah and Dhaid. In addition to this route, a road (Emirates Road) has been constructed) to link all the Seven Emirates and to provide a seamless connectivity.

Telecommunications

The major telecommunications corporation in the United Arab Emirates is Etisalat. Etisalat provides telecommunication services and is one of the leading service providers in the Middle Eastern Region. In addition to Etisalat, a new telecommunications company (DU) has just entered the market. DU will provide a complete range of telecommunications and entertainment services.
