The Investment and Development Office, Government of Ras Al Khaimah (IDO) was established
in 2004 by an Emiri Decree with the aim of identifying new investment opportunities
and facilitating the investment process to allow investors to reach their goals
and achieve success in their businesses in Ras Al Khaimah. IDO showcases the unique
features of Ras Al Khaimah to the prospective investor and ensures that a viable
business venture is set up seamlessly and efficiently. The IDO has truly become
the Economic Ambassador of RAK. It is also the Corporate Finance and Advisory arm
of the Government, working directly with His Highness the Crown Prince & Deputy
Ruler, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, who is also IDO's Chairman. The IDO facilitated
deals and entered into relationships that reached a phenomenal US$6 Billion over
the last two years. The IDO has acted as Lead Manager for Initial Public Offering.
The IDO also participated in Joint Ventures, which created various companies in
addition to developing marketing messages about the emirate and conducting inbound
and outbound investment missions. The IDO also identifies and disseminates investment
opportunities and provides direct investments and/or participations when and if
required. The IDO Office provides necessary information and data to investors and
publishes the relevant indicators to assist investors in their ventures. In addition,
the IDO promotes and helps conduct training and skill development programs for senior
government officials and facilitates the government in all possible ways to improve
the investment environment in Ras Al Khaimah. The IDO has translated the objectives
of RAK government into a strategy that has proven exceptionally successful for the
Emirate.
