The Investment and Development Office, Government of Ras Al Khaimah (IDO) was established in 2004 by an Emiri Decree with the aim of identifying new investment opportunities and facilitating the investment process to allow investors to reach their goals and achieve success in their businesses in Ras Al Khaimah. IDO showcases the unique features of Ras Al Khaimah to the prospective investor and ensures that a viable business venture is set up seamlessly and efficiently. The IDO has truly become the Economic Ambassador of RAK. It is also the Corporate Finance and Advisory arm of the Government, working directly with His Highness the Crown Prince & Deputy Ruler, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, who is also IDO's Chairman. The IDO facilitated deals and entered into relationships that reached a phenomenal US$6 Billion over the last two years. The IDO has acted as Lead Manager for Initial Public Offering. The IDO also participated in Joint Ventures, which created various companies in addition to developing marketing messages about the emirate and conducting inbound and outbound investment missions. The IDO also identifies and disseminates investment opportunities and provides direct investments and/or participations when and if required. The IDO Office provides necessary information and data to investors and publishes the relevant indicators to assist investors in their ventures. In addition, the IDO promotes and helps conduct training and skill development programs for senior government officials and facilitates the government in all possible ways to improve the investment environment in Ras Al Khaimah. The IDO has translated the objectives of RAK government into a strategy that has proven exceptionally successful for the Emirate.
